Arm Update...

Looking good. No follow up appointments scheduled.
I do need to build up the strength again (slowly because it is still sensitive).
Doc did explain that I may not get my arm to bend and straighten as far as I used to, but no worries - I'm not convinced of that and will keep working it to try to get it back to the way it was. Wish me luck!
Kate, Gizmo, and I have been down in Florida since Wednesday morning because her grandmother's health has declined pretty severely. She was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit and has been there since Tuesday night.

She and Kate's mom had gone to Las Vegas and airplane ride back she began hallucinating slightly. She had also been having problems with her foot and it was getting to the point where the doctors were considering removing the foot or toes, due to very poor circulation. If it had to come to removal of the foot, they would have to use a very heavy anasthetic, and she would most likely not make it through this kind of surgery.

Difficult decisions didn't have to be made though, because she's doing much better now and has been moved to a different room and is in much better spirits. The color is returning to her foot and it's obvious she's in a better state of mind. Where it is right now, Kate, Gizmo, and I will probably be coming back on very early Sunday morning. I hope everyone is doing well even though we haven't talked in a while. Take care everyone.

These lanterns take votives or tea lights...

Oil lamp?...

This could use more candles and pebbles surrounding them, but you get the idea...

Happy Spring!

And Happy St. Joseph's Mom! Dad was right...Oliver woke up and picked out the cherry cheese cake. It was great having you both over. Thank you for your help with dropping things off at the house. Cameron got ready for school this morning with her clean mirror (and 5 barrettes I think).

Oh and this message has been posted with our cable modem - Woohoo!!!

Arm Update:
Good news! Doc said - X-ray looked good, can hardly see the fracture.
He moved my arm around a bit. That wasn't much fun but I was surprised how much further he could move it than I could...hmm...and then my ears started ringing...started getting warm...probably would have fallen over if I was asked to stand up. He mentioned doing another x-ray and talked alot but I really couldn't hear him at that point. Had some time to chill before next x-ray which looked fine - he wanted to check my forearm b/c of where I said some pain was. I guess I'm just a wimp.
So now I get to work my arm 3-4 times a day for about 5 minutes (Fortunately, he seemed to repeat most of what he might have said earlier b/c I really missed it then). I go back in two weeks.

Her hand looks like a model's

Sorry Cameron, no puppies for Gizmo. But you will be gaining an Aunt Kate. The center stone is Kate's great-grandmother's and the hand belongs to Kate. Gizmo was indifferent to all the festivities.

Kate and I are throwing around some ideas for exactly when the Date will be. We're thinking September and we're thinking something small. Discussion and opinions can begin....now
